The fellowships has helped millions to stop drinking, which is a vital step for everyone on the spiritual path, but its inherent limits as a program prevent its members from becoming fully recovered. The fellowships allows alcoholics a fellowship of peers, but its philosophy denies the full truth of long term recovery – and thus cannot provide fully enlightened guidance without a fear filled close. As such, if its members go too far in expressing their true selves, they will not be loved or understood by the group.
The Ten Stages is a studied recovery course. It is a source of reconnection a method of unlearning and a reintroduction to our child within which leads us back to our one true intuitive voice. We start to learn and come out of our protective dysfunctional shell and reclaim our lives.
