Look hard at your actions today.Your actions will tell you where you are – not where you want to be. If you want to understand yourself, you must begin to take new action into the realm of your unknown.
But what’s interesting is that as soon as we start to take new action – all these stories and beliefs bubble up telling you why you can’t have the new recovery that you want.
These are called limiting historical beliefs. But – there is also something else going on.
Deep within the limiting beliefs are the powerful voices of guilt and shame from childhood.
Your guilty parental voice will tell you that you are doing something wrong.
Your shame voice projected from deep inside your child within will tell you that you are a bad or not good enough person to ever get what you want.
The truth is that your guilt and shame voices are just mostly nonsense that you inherited from someone else. They aren’t actually true.
And yet – if you argue for your unworthiness – you will surely find yourself to be unworthy.
It’s all well and good to replace limiting beliefs with expansive beliefs, but if you really want to transform your life and fast – begin to dig into the voices of guilt and shame from childhood.
Do you ever feel like you aren’t enough?
Do you ever feel someone like you doesn’t deserve to live their recovery?
Have you tried and tried and tried and nothing has happened and decided that you are simply not meant to have what you truly desire?
What if none of these stories from childhood are being understood – they were just the inherited voices of guilt and shame?
What if these voices of guilt and shame aren’t self-sabotage, but self-protection?
The unknown can be so scary. And yet – it’s exactly the unknown that we must face if we are to live our recovery.
How scary is it to admit that you are indeed worthy and were born perfect?
What would that mean?
Would it mean that you’d have to make brand new choices that scare you?
Would it mean that if you were worthy you might have to speak up and stand out?
Not taking action on our worthiness is what holds us back.
The truth is, you are beyond worthy – just because you were born.
Is the voice of shame clouding your true potential?
