At the ten Stages we come to realise that we did not bond well or at all with our original caregivers when we were young children, experiencing a serious sense of abandonment. The message was, “Because you are worthless and unlovable, I will not care for you”.

This kind of abuse/neglect and early loss creates low self-esteem and exaggerated longing. Emotional needs are immense. At the stages we explore having fear about being able to connect emotionally, and we start by re-connecting with our child within.
