Compassion has three aspects, a feeling of warmth, a sense of openness, and a pervading wisdom that sees through the illusion of separateness and duality. The general guidelines for practicing compassion suggest cultivating a quality of energy, inspiration, and motivation as well as a sense of lightness, ease, and gentleness. We are careful not to become aggressive or self centred in our efforts to be more compassionate. Compassion is the tool we use to open ourselves up to the healing power of the child within. We try not to examine the boundaries of our dissociation cage but step gently between the bars sniffing the morning air and gazing at the beautiful clouds. Then when we are at peace our triggers fall into place.
