From this knowledge, integrated deeply within us, we now engage in a exploration and adventure with ourselves and with our true eternal nature. We no longer expect others to fulfil the unmet needs of childhood or to heal the deficits we carried from our historical dysfunctions. We consciously awaken ourselves and the developing child within them. We have relinquished the childish beliefs that another is coming to rescue us. Thus we now embody the following truth: that each of us, individually, is the reality within our own life. We give and receive intuition to ourselves first, and form bonds with others only as a secondary consequence of this. Our deepest sense of oneness comes not with another but with our own child within. This is the re-birth within. The child re-birth is what our wounded child most desperately craves: new consciousness, new wisdom, and new right action. And when we do form awakened bonds with others, we give without expectation and we receive with our opened heart.
