If we cling to our self-deception and our false comforts and our idealised, dishonest beliefs about our parents and our childhood, then we will know just how foolish and wasted we are.

 We will see our remaining vulnerability and weakness, and we will know that it just remains a matter time before a strong emotional wind sweeps us off our feet and leaves us dazed and lost and cut down to our true and deluded state again. We will once more blame life for letting us down and we will fester in a sea of our own resentments.
